Edith Purkey Johns age 89 of Morristown passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Lakeway Regional Hospital. She was a long-time member of the Morristown Church of Christ and a founding member of the Morristown Doll Club.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Otis H. Johns; daughter, Marie Pardue; father, Charlie Roy Purkey; mother, Gladys Matilda Nicholson Purkey; brothers, Roy, Joe, Powell, and Charles Purkey; sisters, Mary Combs, Ruth Thompson, and June Thomason.
Survivors include her daughters, Martha Ross and Jane (Joe) Dean; son, Charles Johns; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Mayes Family Services, West Chapel and the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Minister Blaine Kelly officiating.
