Rev. Banks Jackson, 89, Mishawaka, departed this life on March 13, 2012 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held 12noonCST/1pm EST Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the Powell Coleman funeral chapel 3200 West 15th Avenue, Gary, Indiana, with Rev. Charles Adams, officiating and visitation 11am CST/12noon EST until the service time; burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Rev. Jackson was born March 4, 1923 in Hazelhurst, Mississippi to the late Edward Jackson and Jamie Briskcoe-Jackson.

He was an Associate Minister and a member of Glory Land Baptist Church in Long Beach, Mississippi; after relocating to Gary, Indiana, he became a member of Pilgrim Rest church.

Rev. Jackson leaves to cherish his fond memories; one devoted niece Bettie Jackson, who welcomed him into her home with open arms and a host of niece, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers Joe Mason, Ed Jackson, Johnny Lee Jackson, Warren Jackson, BJ Jackson, JC Jackson and Sam Jackson and four sisters Jesse Breuax, Lillie Jackson, Villiner Wells and Mattie Dardon.

Rev. Jackson favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalms.
