Eunice Small, 89 of Pierre, died on Monday, November 29 at St. Mary's Hospital. Visitation will be from 5-7pm Thursday, December 2 at Isburg Funeral Chapel iwth a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Services will be at 10:30am Friday, December 3 at the Blunt United Methodist Church with

Eunice Norene Suhn was born February 9, 1921 at Harrold, SD to Fred J. and Marie (Petersen) Suhn. She graduated with honors from Harrold High School in 1939. After graduation she worked in the Hughes County Auditor's office.

Eunice married Clifford Small on March 7, 1941. They operated Small Oil Company until they moved to California in October of 1941. Cliff worked for Lockheed Aircraft and it was in California that they started their family.
They returned to South Dakota in 1945 anticipating Clifford would be drafted, but the war ended. From 1946 to 1956 Eunice ran the office and concessions for the Blunt Livestock Auction and continued helping with the books for their farm and Cliff's order buying business. Eunice & Cliff lived in Blunt until they moved to the Parkwood Retirement Apartments in Pierre in the fall of 1999.
Cliff passed away in July of 2000.

Eunice was a wonderful cook. Her apple pies were the best. She often baked more than 100 to be shared with her family. She was a talented musician playing the piano and organ for over 50 years at the Blunt Methodist Church where she was a member.
Eunice was a 70 year member of Eastern Star. She taught ceramics for many years and made beautiful pieces for all her family members and friends.

Eunice was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother & was extremely proud of her family.

Eunice is survived by 3 daughters, 2 sons, 8 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren: Karen (Mack) Wyly of Ft. Pierre & their families: Kayleen (Paul) Fulton of Miller and their children, Wyatt, Dylan, Mackayln & Jenna; Kyle (Anita) Wyly of Ft. Pierre and their children, Adam, Carson & Abby; Tomi Kay (Jeff) Weinheimer of Onida and their children, Ethan, Hannah, Avery, Cooper, Tessa & Sawyer; Tracy (Jerrod) Henrich of Akron, IA and their children, Hunter & Kolt; Susan (Robert) Earley of Boise, ID and their families, Rachel (David) Schubert of Portland, OR and their children, Willis, Paige & Sydney; Rory (LeAna) Earley of Boise, ID and their children, Hudson & Brennan; Stacy Small of Pierre; Terry (Anita) Small of Aberdeen and their families, Chad (Emily) Small of Lakeville, MN and their children, Raegan, Garrett & Jackson; Tera (John) Muellerliele of Minneapolis, MN and their children, Eloise & Felix; and Craig Small of Westminster, CO; 3 sisters-in-law: Eleanor Small of Sioux Falls; Lea Small of England; Marge Small of Blunt. Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford; sister, Shirley McDonald; 4 brothers-in-law: Donald Small, Keith Small, Harlan Small, Terrance McDonald; sister-in-law: Helen Jean Hoover.
