A nephew, Asa Smith Bushnell became a two-term governor of Ohio 1896-1900. 1850 Federal census at Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois lists A.S. Martin, with a Louisa Martin (Knox College says; Louisa Kirtland, [family say; Louise Bushnell], Hannah [Wright Martin] Pond, Francis Pond, Charles [Finney] Martin, and Simeon [Hammond] Martin).
