George was the son of Aaron Bushnell and his wife Betsey Stannard. George married Maria (Jones) Dibble in 1866. Maria was the widow of Private Alfred Dibble, a Union Soldier who died during the Civil War. Maria had a son Willis Dibble from her first marriage.
