A ship carpenter and builder at Westbrook, Conn.; a son of Col. Aaron Bushnell who died March 4, 1881, ninety-six years of age; a shipbuilder and drill master, and for many years colonel of the State militia.
William A. died of pneumonia in 1888, aged sixty-six years.

Married August 13, 1839, by Lewis Foster, Eliza Buell. Residence, Westbrook, Conn.

Children (being of the ninth generation):
1. Edwin W. Bushnell, born Westbrook, Conn. June 23, 1840; enlisted in the twelfth Connecticut volunteers, October 20, 1861; second lieutenant April 1, 1863; first lieutenant August 21, 1864. With Butler's expedition, Ship Island, Miss.; Forts Jackson and St. Philip. Battles of George's Landing, siege of Port Hudson, Donaldsonville, Winchester, Strasburg, Fisher's Hill, New Market and Cedar Creek, La.
2. Alice Eliza Bushnell, b. Westbrook, Conn. 11 Jan. 1845, d. San Francisco, Calif. 26 Dec. 1932, m. Meriden, Conn. 19 Oct. 1867 Augustus Eliot Bradley, b. Meriden, Conn. 7 Jan. 1841, d. 16 Nov. 1928, son of Hiram and Susan (Eliot) Bradley. (#10764863)
