Cortland Standard, Friday Evening, October 22, 1909

Brief Mention – Benjamin Johnson of Albany with his son Benjamin of Washington, D. C., have been spending a few days with relatives in town. They left for their respective homes in the early part of the week. Mr. Johnson donated while here $25 in addition to the $125 already given to be used for the purchase of books on art and architecture for use in the Phillips Free library. The books are given as a tribute of respect to the memory of his late wife, Mrs. Mary Bennett Johnson, whose early life was spent in this village.
