Graveside services were held for Alma C. Orr, 100, of Ogallala, at Ash Hollow Cemetery, near Lewellen, with Rev. Mary Lou Reynolds, officiating, on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Mrs. Orr died Sunday, Sept. 6, 1998, at the Ogallala Community Hospital.
She was born May to, 1898, in Huntington, W. Va., the daughter of Lanford and Ellen (Williams) Boggs.
The family homesteaded near Lewellen, in 1903.
She attended Ash Creek School, and later, Kearney State Teachers College, and taught school in Garden County.
She married Harold Orr, on June 14, 1916, in North Platte, and the couple made their home in the Lewellen area.
In 1950, they moved to North Platte, and owned and operated a ranch in Logan County.
In 1955, they moved to Ogallala, and purchased the Bank of Keystone.
Preceding her in death, were her husband; daughter, Irma Stocker; one sister; three brothers; and a grandson, Leslie Brogan.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruby Stimpson of Ogallala, and Violet Sweitzer of Erickson; a son, Dr. Warren Orr and wife, Alice, of North Platte; two sisters: Molly Adkins of North Platte, and Lou Miller of Gothenburg; a brother, Mack Boggs of Lewellen; eight grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial has been established in her memory.
