Bio
My genealogical journey began 6 years ago as I was moving my mother's clothes. I discovered an old newspaper article that substantiated an earlier finding I had made at my grandmother's house. The articles told a story of how my ancestors had come to Oklahoma from Florida over the historic Trail Of Tears and founded a small settlement called Brunertown. Since that time I have had a special affinity for African-Native American history. See www.seminolenation-indianterritory.org/benjamin_f_bruner_obituary.htm and www.seminolenation-indianterritory.org/caesar_bruner_freedman.htm and on www.African-nativeamerican.com the freedman burial grounds/Bruner/Turkeycreek/Rentie's
