Tad Campbell resides in Gilroy, California and has worked as a 911 Dispatcher since 1992.
He has been actively researching his own family history since 1987.
His research led to the discovery that he is directly descended from seven Union ancestors and one Confederate ancestor. Over the years Tad has discovered that he has numerous blood uncles who served on either side during the Civil War and over 100 first cousins who participating in the conflict.
In 1997 Tad joined the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) and remains an active member. He is a Past Commander of Phil Sheridan Camp No. 4, a Past Commander of the Department of California and Pacific, and Past Commander-in-Chief of the National Organization.
He also belongs to the California Commandery of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the Union States (MOLLUS).
