CARPENTER, Ruby Mae Strader 96, of Springfield died Thursday, June 17, 2010. She was born March 18, 1914 in Catawba, Ohio the daughter of Neltie and Myrtle (Ward) Carey. Ruby retired from International Steel Wool with twenty-seven years service. She was a member of Eagles 397 Auxiliary and loved to play Bingo.
She is survived by three sons Edward (Della) Strader, Gerald Strader and Dale (Sharon) Strader, all of Springfield; two daughters Barb Krupp of Springfield and Joy Johnson of Mechanicsburg; a daughter-in-law Nancy Strader of Springfield; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Ernest F. Strader and Walter T. Carpenter; sons Ronald, Ernest and Paul Strader; a daughter Darlene Rankin; grandson Kirk Russell Johnson; brothers John and Earl Carey; sisters Geneva Carson, Glenna Shaw, Pearl Elzey and Lena Ferryman; stepchildren Floyd, Frank, Cecil, Russell and Robert Strader, Gladys Nagle, Lucille Broemsen and Lena Everhart.
Friends may call Monday from 6-8 PM. in the RICHARDS, RAFF & DUNBAR MEMORIAL HOME. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM. in the Memorial Home with Pastor Joe Dillard officiating. Burial will be Ferncliff Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.richardsraffanddunbar.com
