Mr. Alexander will have a private memorial service held at a later date. Ripley Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Born June 15, 1949, in Memphis Tennessee, Mr. Alexander was the son of the late Dewy and Betty Butler Childers. He received his education from Westwood High School in Memphis and after graduation he joined the United States Army. He was a Lieutenant and served three tours, where he took part overseeing the Hercules bomb in Vietnam. After his discharge he returned home and became a truck driver. He drove long haul back and forth from California for 20 years before his retirement.
Mr. Alexander had a passion for old cars, playing golf, and listening to music. He was very patriotic and a true republican, who was not shy to cheer on his favorite president, Donald Trump. He kept to himself mostly but never missed an opportunity to help others even when he did not have to. Above all he loved his family more than anything. His brothers and sisters meant everything, and he was always happiest when around them. His kind heart, generosity to others, and easy-going personality will be remembered by all those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish memories include four sisters, Janice Cook (Jeff), Lisa Starz (Rick), Sharon Bean, and Brenda Alexander, two brothers, Jimmy Alexander and Bobby Childers (Terry), and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
