Richard Burt Easley ran into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 22, 2018.
Richard was born on March 29, 1939 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Phillip and Bertha Easley. He graduated from Jonesboro High School in 1957. He attended Arkansas State University before marrying the love of his life Wilma Shelton on December 24, 1958. They moved to Ennis in July 1969 where he attended Rutherford Business College in Dallas graduating with a degree in computer science.
He worked at Love Field Aeromotive for nine years and then Recognition Equipment Inc., where he retired the first time, then at NCFC where he retired the second time, then at Walmart where he finally retired permanently.
He was a member of the St Thomas Episcopal Church for many years where he was a lay reader and served on the Vestry Board. He was a member of The Church of God where he served on the Church Board. He is a member of the Faith Assembly of God where he served as a Deacon on the Church Board until illness forced him to quit.
He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey Dale Easley, his parents, Bertha McGowan and step-father, E.D. McGowan, his father, Phillip Easley and step-mother, Gena Easley.
He leaves behind his wife, Wilma Easley; daughters: Denise Miller, Dianna Mueller and husband, Charlie; son, Michael Easley and wife, Mary; walk in daughter, Tamara Robb; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; brothers: Martin Easley and wife, Ruby, Bob Easley and wife, Donna, Melvin Easley and wife, Julia, Lindell Easley and wife, Colleen, David Easley and wife, Cathy, and sister, Phyllis Handkins and husband, Rex.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Faith Assembly of God.
