District Elder Leroy Jackson Sr.
1925-2017

Born July 4th to Leroy Jackson Sr. and Florence Canada in Detroit. Served in Navy and Air Force 1943-1950. Served as a minister at Logan Park Assembly of Christ. Taught God's Word through his artistic illustrations. Married Alberta Richie in 1950. Pastored Zion Tabernacle Pentecostal Church of East Chicago 1974-2017. Wife Alberta passed in 1977. Married Bertha Bell, who served until passing in 2003. Spent later years with his family, writing, and mentoring ministers. Survived by wife of 13 years Johnnie Mae Glass Jackson; Daughters Doris (William) Sanford of Las Vegas, Frances (Charles) Beard of Clinton, IN, Harold (Laverne) Jackson of Milwaukee; Stepchildren Ronald Lee, Linda McCollum, Annette Johnson, Cathy Glass, and Matthew Glass. Services Friday August 4th; Wake 9am, Funeral 11am at Logan Park Assembly of Christ 1513 Polk St. Bishop George Stearnes, officiating. Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park.
