Monty was the youngest of three boys born to William Russell Wright and Louella Lutman Wright Monty grew up in Lansing Michigan. He served in Viet Nam as a door gunner with the 282nd assault helicopter company . The Black Cats. After returning to Lansing after the war he hired into Oldsmobile where he worked for thirty years. He was the father of four children Penny , Carrie , Marie and a Son. Monty loved to hunt and fish and was often found in the outdoors.Monty Roy Wright Olivet Mr. Monty R. Wright, age 62, passed away June 17, 2013 in Charlotte, MI. He was born September 29, 1950 in Lansing, MI, son of Russell and Luella Lyddia (Lutman) Wright. Monty was retired from General Motors and served in the Army during Vietnam. He was a former member of the Lyons V.F.W. Post 4646 and was very active with the Alano Club. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Jeannie; 3 daughters: Pennie (Roman) Schafer of Lyons, Carie (William Jr.) Lawens of Olivet and Marie Wright of Ionia; son Jordan Guild of Ionia; 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; brothers Clarence (Elizabeth) Wright of Willliamston and Larry (Kathy) Wright of Lansing. Memorial Services will be held Friday, June 21, 2013 - 1:00 p.m. at the Lyons V.F.W. Post 4646, 223 E. Bridge St., Lyons, MI. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care or Alano Club East in memory of Monty Wright.
