Virginia was born in 1922 at Belding Michigan. She was the daughter of a silk mill girl and a machine repairman.
Her mother having worked at Belding Brothers Silk Mill and her Father at Belding Hall Co.
She was the second child of Sherman and Viola Moore , there first being Kenneth born in 1920 at Belding.
She and her brother were orphaned in July of 1925. Sherman dying first in an accidental drowning near Belding and Viola eighteen days later of a broken hart. The Court gave custody of Virginia and Ken to Alfred and Bessie Neve of Greenville.In 1939 Virginia eloped with Ralph Kenneth dines. She was just seventeen at the time. Virginia and Ken Dines had only one child. Kathleen Rae Dines. She was born on April 15 1943. Kenneth left Virginia and there daughter some time around 1947. It was shortly after this Virginia moved to Lansing Michigan.
At some point after coming to Lansing she met Tony Ferrigan. While not sure of their marriage date I do know there marriage ended around 1954. Later she would meet Len Gensheimer and they would marry. This marriage lasted until Virginias death in 1987. She and Len had one daughter Cindy born in around 1958.
As a young woman she worked at the very first Meijer store in Greenville Michigan She would work nearly all of her adult life retiring from the insurance industry. She was a very gutsy Lady who I am proud to have called grandma.
