Lienig Len as everyone called him was born in Negaunee Michigan in aprox 1910. He was the son of Hohn Gensheimer and Martha g Lienig Gensheimer.
Both parents were born in Germany and came to Michigan in the late 1800s or very early 1900s.
Len grew up in Negaunee however in 1931 he came down state looking for work.
While living with his sister and her husband in north lansing he found work at the REO.

A short time later he was hired by Oldsmobile.
For a while he held both jobs on opposite shifts.
He would walk out of REO at one shifts end and cross the street to Olds to start the next.
Eventually he left TEO staying at Oldsmobile.
He would retie out of Olds as a journeyman painter.
While at Oldsmobile during world war two he was a civilian tech attached to the eighth airforce.
He was responsible for the repair of 50 caliber machineguns and 20 mm canons.

After the war he married and had a daughter from this union.
Paula Gensheimer.
Len would mary a second time and from that wnion a daughter was born.
Cindy Sue Gensheimer.
Len was a skilled carpenter and mechanic, there was not much he could not build or fix.

He was a great grandfather to my Brother and I and he is missed.
Our mother Cathy Dines Wright was Lens step daughter from his second marriage.
Although a step child he never treated her like one. In his eyes all the girls were his girls.
