Ethel Sundberg, 87, of Cambridge, MN, died on Fri, Apr 6, 2012, at The Haven House in Cambridge. Ethel D. Rice was born Aug 3, 1924, in Mildred, MN, to Robert and Carrie (Eastvold) Rice. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, one sister and five brothers. She graduated from Backus High School in 1942 and was united in marriage to Galen Adkins in 1947. Their family moved to Cambridge in 1959, where they were members of the United Methodist Church. After Dr. Adkins’ death in 1966, Ethel enjoyed working as a secretary at Cambridge Elementary School until her marriage to Donald Sundberg in 1973. Ethel felt privileged to be embraced by the Sundberg family. She is survived by daughters: Allison Adkins (Terry Peterson) of Longville, MN, Naida Reynolds of Duluth, MN, Robin Adkins of Bloomington, MN; stepchildren: Mary (Philip) Dunbar of Cambridge, Loretta Sundberg of Mora, MN , Robert (Rita) Sundberg of Gull Lake, MN; sister: June Satre of Vancouver WA, sisters-in-law: Pauline Rice of Stillwater, MN, Esther Sundberg of Mesa, AZ; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends. Memorial services were held on Fri, Apr 20, 2012, at the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge. Interment was at the Cambridge Union Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Cambridge Medical Center and The Haven House for their expert and loving care. Arrangements were with the Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Cambridge, MN.
