The Rev. Noah Langley will conduct the funeral service and interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett was a retired seismic surveyor who was employed for over 53 years in seismic exploration in the U.S., Haiti, and Sumatra, as well as in the Gulf of Mexico.
He was a lifelong domino player who could and did beat all who challenged him. He was also an avid bowler. In September of 2003, he received a certificate of special recognition from the Lafayette Bowling Association for his dedication and longevity in the sport of bowling.
He is survived by three daughters, Kathe Begnaud and Richard of Scott, LA, Lynne Gross of Broussard, LA, and Ardra Morgan and Marty of Eupora, MS; two sons, David Bennett of Houston, TX, and Miles Bennett of Breaux Bridge, LA; two sisters, Adelle Trigg of Elkhart, TX, and Doris Roquemore and Frank of Palestine, TX; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and his faithful canine companion, Molly.
Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Logan Bennett; a son, Capt. Steve Logan Bennett; a granddaughter, Rachel Faith Credeur; a son-in-law, George Monrow Gross; his parents; sisters, Dorris Bennett, Lula Gray, and Junie Rosson; brothers, Odell, W.T.,Fagan, and twin brother, Eldridge.
Serving as pallbearers will be David Bennett, Miles Bennett, Marty Morgan, Richard Begnaud, Ricky Begnaud, and Danny Trigg.
