Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Carter's Chapel Faith Temple in Amory with Bishop G.T. Howell officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Rest Cemetery. Jackson Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Dobbs Acker of Aberdeen; three sisters, Christine Dobbs of Aberdeen, and Arther Mae Finnie and Vera Clark, both of Amory; two brothers, Dred Acker of Nettleton and Alfred Acker of Amory; three sisters-in-law, Etheline Acker, Ocelia Gilleylen and Willie Dobbs, both of Kalamazoo, Mich.; two brothers-in-law, John Henry Dobbs of Tupelo and Bernice Dobbs of Aberdeen; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Baxter Acker; and a sister, Julia Acker.
