Rodgers, a graduate of Treadwell High School, had been in the Navy since his graduation. He had lived in Memphis most of his life. When not on duty at Charleston Naval Base, he worked as a part time disc jockey at the Moncks Corner, SC., radio station.
In addition to his parents he leaves a brother, Patrolman J. J. Rodgers of the Memphis Police Department and three sisters, Mary Rodgers of the home address and Mrs. Patsy Branch and Mrs. Brenda Holland, both of Memphis.
BM3, Billy J. Rodgers, Memphian stationed at Charleston SC., Navy Base, in a one-car accident near Charleston. Services at 2:00 pm Monday at Memphis Funeral Home on Union and burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.
